Applied Bachelor (BSc Honours) in Software Engineering

The Applied Bachelor (BSc Honours) in Software Engineering, is designed for learners who want to become applied software engineers. The programme introduces a large array of software development skills which are required to compete in an ever expanding software workforce.

The applied bachelor is a vocational qualification and is ideal for Grade 12 or equivalent high school graduates aged 18 years and above who want an education that helps prepare them for various jobs and careers in the Information Technology industry.

The following qualification is also available as exit award of the Applied Bachelor (BSc Honours) in Software Engineering.

  • Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering (HND in CSD) – 2 Years

Why enrol on this programme?

Our software engineering students are trained in a variety of programming languages, such as Java, HTML5, JavaScript, Oracle, PL/SQL and XML. They are prepared for an immediate employment in the real-world software market.

The programme is designed in line with international quality standards. It aims to graduate quality software engineers who are equipped with strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills that help them obtain initial positions in their chosen fields; support continued education at the graduate level; and provide a solid foundation for life-long professional growth.

The Applied Bachelor (BEng Honours) in Software Engineering is a dual award programme conferred by Emirates Aviation University and Coventry University, UK. The EAU award is recognised by the National Qualifications Authority (NQA) in the UAE.

The Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering and the Higher National Diploma in Computer Software Development is a dual exit award conferred by Emirates Aviation University and BTEC Pearson, UK respectively. The EAU award is subject to recognition by the National Qualifications Authority (NQA) in the UAE.

Career Prospects

Software engineers design and develop software that is involved in almost every facet of today's modern society, including computer gaming, business applications, military applications, telecommunication systems, operating systems, and network control systems.

Computer software engineers apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computer work. Software engineers can be involved in the design and development of many types of software.
