HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum – EAU Chancellor (Chairman of the Board)

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum embarked on his career in the aviation industry in 1985 when he was appointed President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) – the governing body that oversaw the activities of Dubai International and Dubai Duty Free, among others.

In the same year Emirates – Dubai’s international carrier – was launched with Sheikh Ahmed as its Chairman. He is now the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, which includes dnata – the region’s leading travel services and ground handling company, and other aviation related entities.

Prof. Dr Ahmad Al Ali – EAU Vice-Chancellor (CEO of the University)

Professor Al Ali has been Vice-Chancellor of Emirates Aviation University (EAU) since 2008, his responsibilities include providing the strategic direction for maintaining EAU’s reputation in teaching and research excellence, fostering existing partnerships / forging new ones – within industry and within government and ensuring that the University meets its financial commitments and achieves its goals.

Professor Al Ali graduated with a BSc (Honours) and MSc in Mathematics from Kings College – University of London, and subsequently obtained his PhD in Mathematics from City University, London ,UK.

He is a recipient of a Full-bright Scholarship, Associate fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, and has served on numerous national bodies and committees, including a board member of the Dubai Statics Centre. Established links with reputable universities in the UK, Singapore and the Netherlands.

Previous roles include, Assistance Professor and Associate Dean for research at the faculty of science at the United Arab Emirates University, and has numerous publications in well regarded journals of Applied Mathematics.

Mr Gary Chapman – President Group Services and Dnata (The Emirates Group)

Gary Chapman (ACA – New Zealand)  has been a key member of the Emirates Group management team for almost three decades. In his current role - President (Group Services & dnata), Emirates Group - he is responsible for the global operations of dnata, the leading air services provider employing over 38,000 people with businesses in 75 countries worldwide, as well as a number of other associated company businesses within the Emirates Group. He is also responsible for a number of the support functions of the Emirates Group (Finance, IT, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Medical Services, Legal, Insurance, Performance Development).

Mr Abdulaziz Al Ali – Executive Vice President – Human Resources (The Emirates Group)

Mr Abdulaziz Al Ali is Emirates' Executive Vice President Human Resources since July 2003. In this capacity, he is responsible for the Group’s HR Strategy, manages the overall provision of the Human Resources function, policies, training and development, hiring and retention. Under his portfolio, he is also responsible for the Group’s Medical Services Department, and Emirates Aviation College. Prior to taking over this position, he was Director Human Resources since 2002 and Head of Human Resources since 2000.

Mr Adel Al Redha – Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer (The Emirates Group)

Mr Adel Ahmad Al Redha is Emirates’ Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer since June 2013. He is responsible for Engineering, Flight Operations, Service Delivery and Airport Services.

In his earlier role as Emirates' Executive Vice President Engineering and Operations, he was responsible for the management of key operational departments including Flight Operations, Engineering and Aircraft Procurement. Prior to this, he has held the titles of Director of Engineering and Head of Engineering. He expanded Emirates Engineering's capabilities and functions to include all aircraft checks and engine module repairs leading to significant reduction in maintenance costs and inventory levels of spare engines.

Mr Thierry Antinori – Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer (The Emirates Group)

Mr Thierry Antinori is the Commercial Operations, Revenue Optimisation, Skywards, Destination and Leisure Management and Cargo of Emirates Group. He joined Emirates in October 2011 as Executive Vice President for Passenger Sales Worldwide. He was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Airline, in June 2013.

His career spans more than 25 years in the aviation industry, including senior commercial positions at both Lufthansa and Air France. He began his career with Air France, responsible for regional sales and route management across Europe before becoming Executive Assistant to the President and then Director Air France for Germany.
