The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Administration programme provides learners with an opportunity to gain an insight into all aspects of general business management including marketing, finance, human resources management and law along with other business disciplines which will provide a solid foundation in essential business practice.

The BA (Hons) in Business Administration programme is a three-year programme designed in line with international standards and aims to provide a high-quality business education with a strong focus on business. The curriculum is carefully designed to integrate core business modules with more specialized modules offered in year three as detailed in the illustrative study schedule below.

You will gain understanding of how a business operates, the challenges involved in managing a business and what makes it successful. You will study a variety of business subjects such as accounting, economic environment, finance, marketing, organizational behavior and human resource management. The emphasis is on application to business organizations, and the learning environment will incorporate guests speakers, wherever possible to give you a real-life vocational aspect to your learning. Your assessments will be based on local and global business organizations with a vocational context.

Programme Delivery

You will study 7 mandatory modules in Year1; 6 in Year2; followed by 6 mandatory modules in the final year. All classes are delivered interactively and online by international faculty from around the globe. Classes are recorded for future student’s reference.

Each module is allocated four weeks of student efforts. The actual lecturer delivery face-to-face (interactively and online) is during the first 5 days of the four weeks period. The five-days delivery span the weekend (Thursday to Monday). Assessments take place (interactively and online) at the end of week4. This mode of delivery facilitates minimum disruption for participants in full-time employment.

Accreditation

The BA (Hons) in Business Administration award is a dual award programme conferred by Emirates Aviation University (EAU) and Coventry University, UK. The EAU award is recognized by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai.

Student Intake

Students may join the programme at any scheduled module in Year 1 (see the Course Outline section for the timetable depicting potential dates of intakes in Year 1)!

On successful completion of this course a student should be able to: 

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the business environment, business strategy, and in particular the accounting and finance functions of business organisations.
  • Apply a wide range of relevant skills and competencies in order to be productive in a graduate level role in an organisation in the areas of accounting and finance.
  • Through applying accounting and finance concepts, formulate, suggest and communicate solutions to business problems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to act as an independent learner (in both educational and business settings) as well as the ability to play a full role when working and / or learning in teams.
  • Appreciate the international perspectives on accounting and financial markets.
  • Standard Entry:
    High School Certificate – An officially certified secondary school certificate or equivalent.
  • Original TOEFL (iBT) score of 61 and above or IELTS (Academic) score of 5.0 and above
