Airport Ground Handling is a vital part of aviation operations, supporting the safe and efficient movement of aircraft, passengers, baggage and cargo. The Diploma in Airport Ground Handling – Level 4 is an NQC-accredited qualification under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE, designed to prepare learners for careers in airports, airlines and aviation ground handling organisations.

The 15-month, part-time programme combines industry-focused classroom learning with practical airport experience. Students develop knowledge and skills in aircraft and airport operations, passenger handling, aircraft turnaround, aviation safety and security, emergency response, dangerous goods, communication and teamwork.

A key feature of the programme is the four-month Airport Industry Internship Training, providing students with the opportunity to apply their learning in a live airport operational environment and develop practical workplace competencies.

Airport Industry Internship Training

The programme includes a four-month structured Airport Industry Internship Training, enabling students to apply the knowledge and skills developed during the on-campus modules in a live airport operational environment.

The internship is conducted with participating airports, airlines and approved aviation ground handling organisations. Internship partners may include leading aviation service providers such as dnata, subject to partnership arrangements and placement availability.

Internship Experience

During the Airport Industry Internship Training, students will gain practical exposure to customer service and airside operations through structured observation, workplace shadowing and supervised learning across various operational units within the airport environment.

Important Internship Information

Airport Industry Internship Training is subject to the availability of internship placements with participating airports, airlines and approved aviation ground handling organisations.

Access to airport operational areas is subject to obtaining the required Airport Security Pass. Students are responsible for submitting the documentation required by the relevant airport authority and meeting the applicable security clearance requirements. Internship placement within airport operational areas cannot be guaranteed where the required airport security/pass clearance is not granted.
