Dr. Seyed Mousavi

Dr. Mousavi received his BSc, MSc, and PhD in Computing from leading universities, with both his master’s and PhD theses focusing on applications of AI. He is especially interested in high-impact, real-world applications of AI. After completing his PhD at Imperial College London (2006), he served as an Assistant and an Associate Professor (2007–2024). Alongside academia, he has collaborated extensively with industry, initially as a software developer during his studies, and later as a team lead, contractor, and consultant. Out of his nine research grants, three were research and development projects. Most recently (2024–2025), as a Research Fellow at the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow, he contributed to a project on AI in healthcare, jointly conducted with and funded by Boehringer, a global pharmaceutical company. He has also been affiliated with the School of Cancer Sciences at the University of Glasgow.

Dr. Jean-François

Jean-François is currently the Head of Research at the Three Cairns Group, a US philanthropic organization, working on bringing the best science to enable a functional and scalable carbon credit market and accelerate solutions to address the climate crisis. Prior to this, he was the Chief Climate Scientist at SilverLining, a US-based NGO focused on safe solutions to near-term climate change. From September 2022 through January 2024, he was a Senior Expert on Climate at McKinsey & Company. Until September 2022, he was the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Climate and Global Dynamics (CGD) Laboratory Director, as well as the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP) Chair. Until early 2018, he was the Community Earth System Model (CESM) Chief Scientist. He was a Lead Author on Chapter 8 (Radiative forcing) of IPCC AR5, published in 2013. He is the author or co-author of over 300 peer-reviewed articles and more than 100,000 citations, for which he has been recognized through the Highly Cited Researcher Award since 2016. He is a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society. He received his Ph.D.in Physics from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) in 1993, with Pr. Berger and Dr. Brasseur as joint advisors.

Dr. Yacob T. Tesfaldet

Dr. Yacob T. Tesfaldet is an environmental data scientist and researcher with over seven years of experience in academia and applied research. He specializes in geospatial data science, GeoAI, and computer vision, leveraging GIS, remote sensing, and spatiotemporal analysis to address complex environmental and public health challenges. His research focuses on the spatial and temporal dynamics, integrating ground-based and satellite observations to support climate change mitigation, public health resilience, urban sustainability, and evidence-based policy evaluation. By applying advanced spatiotemporal forecasting and machine learning models, Dr. Tesfaldet helps stakeholders identify at-risk areas, design targeted interventions, and build data-driven, climate-resilient communities. In addition to his research, he serves as a Scientific Editor for Next Research, contributing to the advancement of interdisciplinary environmental and data science scholarship.

Mawada Tawfik

Mawada Tawfik is an Instructor and Teaching Assistant in Mathematics at Emirates Aviation University, Dubai. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, where her research focuses on applying AI and data-driven methods to climatology and environmental sustainability. Her academic interests include mathematical modeling, climate analytics, and machine learning. She is passionate about mathematics and interested in making AI accessible to everyone. In her free time, she treasures spending quality time with her family and friends.

She has been associated with different educational institutions in the capacity of editorial board member, research supervisor, and reviewer.

She holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Pretoria and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management from University of South Africa. Currently pursuing her master’s degree in environmental management, her research examines climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies at South African airports. Phathutshedzo is passionate about driving sustainability and resilience in the aviation sector.

Dr. Bhavana Rajeev

Dr. Bhavana Rajeev is an enthusiastic researcher and business educator with a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in higher education. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes student-centred learning by creating inclusive, engaging, and interactive classroom environments. Her research focuses on the integration of financial services and ethical business practices, with particular emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability. Dr. Bhavana has been a faculty member at Emirates Aviation University since 2018. Prior to this, she taught at several renowned institutions and held key academic roles, including Academic Research Supervisor and Doctoral Committee Member for PhD, DBA, and MBA programs. Through mentoring and evaluating academic research, she aims to support the development of the next generation of scholars and practitioners committed to driving ethical and sustainable business practices. Dr. Bhavana holds a PhD in Commerce, with her research centred on Finance, CSR, and Banking. She is also a trained teacher and holds certifications in academic research supervision. She has published and presented numerous research articles in peer-reviewed journals and at international conferences.

As a faculty member in the Faculty of Mathematics and Data Science at Emirates Aviation University, he leads research and innovation initiatives in Artificial Intelligence, data science, and business analytics, focusing on real-world challenges in aviation, transportation systems, healthcare, and sustainable smart cities. His interdisciplinary work bridges operational aviation expertise with advanced technologies such as simulation, optimization, and predictive modeling. He has contributed to ICAO-led initiatives and presented award-winning research at leading international conferences including IEEE and Springer, actively advancing intelligent, data-driven infrastructure solutions across the UAE and globally.
