Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering is a highly-advanced discipline that explores how flight is possible, how flying vehicles are manufactured, powered, operated, controlled and maintained. This programme provides you with the practical training and commercial acumen you will need to succeed in this high-technology field.
The BEng (Hons.) in Aerospace Technology is a three-year programme designed to offer a stimulating, dynamic, and high quality vocational course in aerospace and aeronautical engineering. This programme prepares learners for various jobs and careers in the airline industry on aircraft acquisitions, planning, configuration and maintenance.
The following qualification is also available as exit award of the BEng (Honours) in Aerospace Technology.

Why enrol on this programme?
The BEng (Hons.) in Aerospace Technology is work-related qualifications for students taking their first steps into employment, providing progression into the workplace either directly or via study at university, designed in line with employer’s needs. It is a three year programme (Part time) based on the British model for higher education awards. During those three years learners will receive a broad education and application in all Aerospace disciplines, such as aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion, structures and systems.
Initially, Learners will use the aircraft as entities of study in order to gain knowledge about principles behind aircraft operation. As the programme progresses, the emphasis shifts gradually from theory to application of these theories on aircraft systems. Lectures alternate with seminars, laboratory courses and projects where you put the knowledge you have acquired into practice. The concept of the programme is skill-based with less focus on theory and more on coursework and application.
Years One and Two
The classes will be held over the weekends (Friday-Saturday) of particular months. This means a module can be completed over 4 consecutive weekends (8 days).
Students will study 9 mandatory modules in every year, a total of 18 modules over the first two years. Learning will be via a combination of classroom lectures (which includes sufficient prospects for student participation in group activities), individual assignments, case study analysis, and presentations, etc…
The final year of the programme is split into 6 modules over a period of one year. The modules will be completed independently, one module every two months in five consecutive day blocks of delivery over 40 hours, Thursday to Monday (incl.).
You have two opportunities to join this programme in February, and September each year.
This programme aims to equip graduates with the skills to become successful engineers and engineering managers, both in aerospace and the wider engineering industry. Graduates of this programme have gone on to become aircraft maintenance engineers, planning engineers, design engineers, quality engineers and engineering managers for a wide variety of companies. Some have chosen to become pilots. Graduates may choose to pursue a higher education (Master’s and PhD degrees) in several engineering areas that include Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering.
Not only will students learn comprehensive theory, but EAU will also provide the means to gain practical experience in well-equipped laboratories and workshops as well as hands on experience in a real workplace environment through on job training and internships where applicable.

Accreditation for Prior Learning (APL)
(APL) is an academic process that recognises and values your previous study.
(APL) is allowed in Year 1 and Year 2, but not Year (3). I.e. you can skip modules from the first year and even the second year in case you did similar modules in another institution. But you cannot skip any module from the 3rd year.

The BEng (Hons.) in Aerospace Technology enables you to progress to study at Master’s Level in several Engineering and non-Engineering disciplines.
Applicants are expected to have the following:
- High School Certificate – An officially certified secondary school certificate or equivalent, with a minimum total average score of 80%; scores between 70-79% will be subject to an interview
- Original TOEFL (iBT) score of 61 and above or IELTS (Academic) score of 5.0 and above.
- Five GCSE/IGCSE O-level subjects + 2 GCE AS-level subjects with a minimum grade ‘C’ in all,
- Five GCSE/IGCSE O-level subjects + 1 GCE A-level subject with a minimum grade ‘D’ in either Maths or Physics.
Original certificate for either TOEFL Paper Based (500); or TOEFL CBT (173); or TOEFL IBT (61); or IELTS (5) or PTE Academic (36).
