Julia Thampy Thomas is a lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Data Science at Emirates Aviation University. She hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics from National Institute of Technology, Calicut, India where the research focused on Statistical Quality Control. As a researcher in the field of applied statistics, Dr. Thomas specializes in developing mathematical models for quality and reliability of manufacturing systems. During her Ph.D, she was awarded the research grant of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). She has publications in leading academic journals and regularly present her work at international conferences. She is a passionate teacher who strive to create a collaborative and engaging learning environment, where students can explore the connections between theory and real-world applications. Dr. Thomas offers courses in Engineering Mathematics and Business Mathematics at undergraduate level and Numerical Methods at doctoral level.
