The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Aerospace Technology is a one-year top-up programme delivered in full-time mode, that is designed to ‘top up ‘students’ existing vocational qualifications (e.g. UAE Higher Diploma, UK Higher National Diploma or equivalent) to a bachelor’s degree.
This programme has been designed in line with international standards and aims to provide with the practical training and commercial acumen you will need to succeed in this high-technology field of Aerospace Engineering.
Why enrol on this programme?
The aerospace industry has many exciting opportunities from design and construction to maintenance and operations. The top up programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge to pursue these opportunities. The paradigm of the programme is skill-based with less focus on theories and more on coursework and applications. You will be taught the intricacies of aircraft systems, the various types of system failure that can occur and the implications of failure. You will be provided with the vital skills needed to work as an applied aerospace engineer working for an airline or the military.
Accreditation
The Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Aerospace Technology is a dual award programme conferred by Emirates Aviation University and Coventry University, UK.
Career Prospects
The course aims to produce graduates with the skills to become successful engineers and engineering managers, both in aerospace and the wider engineering context.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace technology have gone on to become aircraft maintenance engineers, planning, engineers, design engineers, quality engineers and engineering managers for a wide variety of companies. Students have also become pilots and worked in the whole spectrum of aerospace careers. Graduates of this programme may alternatively choose to pursue postgraduate education (Master and PhD degrees) in several engineering areas that include Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering.
Practical Experience
Not only will students learn comprehensive theory, but EAU will also provide the means to gain practical experience in well-equipped laboratories and workshops as well as hands on experience in a real workplace environment through on job training and internships where applicable.
