The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Applied Mechanical Engineering is a one-year top-up programme delivered in full-time mode, that is designed to ‘top up ‘students’ existing vocational qualifications (e.g. UAE Higher Diploma, UK Higher National Diploma or equivalent) to a bachelor’s degree.
Why enrol on this programme?
Students will gain a range of essential competencies in areas relevant to their current or intended employment, such as CAD, drafting, engineering design, engineering management, employability skills and project management. Students will learn to use their mathematical and analytical skills to solve real-life problems. They will be equipped with competencies in organizing and analysing information, interacting with computing technology and selecting engineering materials.
Accreditation
The Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering is a dual award programme conferred by Emirates Aviation University and Coventry University, UK.
Career Prospects
Mechanical engineers are sought-after in all types of industries, such as construction, marine, oil and gas and aerospace. The programme helps learners build a firm foundation for employment. Graduates may choose to pursue a higher education (Master’s and PhD degrees) in several engineering areas.
Practical Experience
Not only will students learn comprehensive theory, but EAU will also provide the means to gain practical experience in well-equipped laboratories and workshops as well as hands on experience in a real workplace environment through on job training and internships where applicable.
Duration
A minimum of one academic-year delivered in full-time mode.
Mode of Delivery
Full-time, and semester-based.
