Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering is a highly-advanced discipline that explores the regime of flights i.e., how flying vehicles are designed, powered, operated, controlled and maintained. This programme provides students with the practical training and commercial acumen that they will need to succeed in this advanced technological field.
The BEng (Hons.) in Aerospace Technology is a Three-year programme designed to offer a stimulating, dynamic, and high-quality vocational course in aerospace and aeronautical engineering. This programme prepares learners for various jobs and careers in the airline industry within divisions such as aircraft acquisitions, planning, configuration and maintenance.
The following qualification is also available as exit award of the BEng (Honours) in Aerospace Technology.
Why enrol on this programme?
The BEng (Hons.) in Aerospace Technology is a Three-year programme based on the British curriculum for higher education awards. During those three years learners will receive a broad education and application in all Aerospace disciplines, such as aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion, structures and systems.
From the very first day of studying at Emirates Aviation University, learners will use the aircraft as objects of study to gain knowledge about learning skills. As the programme progresses, the learning emphasis shifts gradually from theory to application. Lectures are delivered in conjunction with seminars, laboratory courses and projects where students put the knowledge they have acquired into practice. The paradigm of the programme is skill-based with less focus on theory and more on coursework, hands on experiences and application.
The Aerospace industry has many exciting opportunities - from design and construction to maintenance and operations. The BEng(Hons.) in Aerospace Technology programme will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to pursue these opportunities. Learners will develop the technical skills required to maintain 21st century Aviation and Aerospace fleets into the future. Students will learn how to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, develop and repair aircraft discrepancies using the knowledge and skills they acquired and highly-advanced equipment and techniques.
Accreditation
The Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Aerospace Technology is a dual award programme conferred by Emirates Aviation University and Coventry University, UK.
Career Prospects
The programme aims to equip graduates with the skills to become successful engineers and engineering managers, both in aerospace and other engineering industry. Graduates of this programme have gone on to become aircraft maintenance engineers, planning engineers, design engineers, quality engineers and engineering managers for a wide variety of companies. Some have chosen to become pilots while others chose to pursue a higher education (Master’s and PhD degrees) in several engineering areas that include Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering.
Practical Experience
Not only will students learn comprehensive theory, but EAU will also provide to the students the means to gain practical experience in well-equipped laboratories and workshops as well as hands on experience in a real workplace environment through on job training and internships.
Alumni Success
Companies that have employed graduates of the Emirates Aviation University BEng (Hons.) in Aerospace Technology programme include:
Accreditation for Prior Learning(APL):
(APL) is an academic process that recognises and values students previous studies.
(APL) is allowed in year 1 and year 2, but not year 3. i.e. students can skip modules offered in the first year and/or in the second year if they had already studied these or equivalent modules at another institution. However, all offered modules in year 3 will have to be undertaken.
Duration
Three Years
Mode Of delivery
Full-time, and semester-based.
