Prof Kaitano Dube
Prof Kaitano Dube (C2 NRF-rated researcher) is a leading tourism geographer with a research interest in tourism, climate change, sustainability and aviation. He has 11 published books edited and co-authored, complemented by more than 49 highly cited journal articles in some of the leading international journals. Prof Dube, an ecotourism management lecturer, currently serves as a research professor at the Vaal University of Technology under the Faculty of Human Sciences and a visiting professor at Emirates Aviation University, Dubai, UAE.
Dr Evangelia Pantelaki
Dr Evangelia Pantelaki is Senior Lecturer within the Faculty of Business Management at Emirates Aviation University, Dubai, UAE. She is an economist and her research interests are sustainable aviation, business aviation, leadership in airline companies, and aviation and tourism. She has participated in applied research projects in Italy and the UK and has worked with UK local authorities and the UK’s Department for Transport. She is a reviewer for highly ranked peer reviewed journals and sits on the editorial board of Research in Transportation Business and Management, Journal of Air Transport Studies and Journal of Airline Operations and Aviation Management. She a member of the German Aviation Research Society, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), UK – Aviation Policy Group, Women in Aviation International (including Middle East Chapter) and the Hellenic Aviation Society.
Natalie Porter
Natalie Porter is a PhD student at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She has an MSc in Engineering Management, also from the University of Auckland, and a BSc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester. Her current research centres on corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the aviation industry. Specifically exploring the processes behind CSR implementation and how efforts are communicated to different stakeholders. This research follows on from her work during her master’s degree where she carried out a comparative study of how leading aviation manufacturers present their CSR efforts online.
Captain Fahad ibne Masood
Captain Fahad ibne Masood, MRAeS, is a thought-leader bridging the gap between the aviation industry and academia with 25 years of experience and strategic expertise. His extensive background in both civil and military aviation sectors highlight his exceptional leadership qualities and tactical acumen. Fahad's distinguished military service and deep understanding of aerospace operations and safety shaped his transformative leadership and strategic vision. Enoch Opare Mintah
Enoch Opare Mintah is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE), and a PhD candidate at Kingston University, London. He holds to his credit an MRes (Kingston University London), MBA (University of Liverpool, UK), MSc Governance (University of Lincoln, UK), Cert. Hospitality and Tourism Management (Florida Atlantic University, USA) and BA English (KNUST, Ghana). His research interest revolves around Governance, ESG disclosures, Corporate Social Responsibility, Carbon and Biodiversity Credit, and Education for Sustainable Development. He is a recipient of several funding awards and is actively involved in global collaborative projects. Enoch is a member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), European Accounting Association (EAA), Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS-UK), and Association of MBAs’ (AMBA). Serafeim Tsiakalos
Serafeim Tsiakalos is an aviation professional with over 15 years of extensive experience in airline and airport operations and crisis management. He has worked in notable airports, airlines, and ground-handling providers. Currently, he is a Project Manager in the Crisis Management & Business Continuity Department at Qatar Airways. A PhD Candidate at the University of the Aegean, Serafeim's research interests revolve around aviation operations and risk management, emergency and crisis management, business continuity management, operational and organisational resilience and emerging technologies. His academic credentials are diverse and robust, including an MBA in International Business Management, an MSc in Disasters & Crises Management Strategies, an MA in Media & Communication and a Bachelor's in Political Science. Additionally, he has a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education, and he holds, since 2016, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the National College for Teaching & Leadership, Department for Education, UK. In addition to his industry experience, Serafeim served as a Lecturer in Aviation Management and Course Director for the Aviation and MBA programmes at Coventry University Wroclaw. Rashed Hussein
Rashed Hussein is a nuclear engineer with a passion for atomic-level simulations. He holds a BSc in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Sharjah, UAE, and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Emirates Aviation University, Dubai, UAE. Rashed’s research journey began with exploring the thermal and vibrational properties of materials during his undergraduate studies. He then focused on maximizing jet engine operating temperatures for his Master's research. With plans to pursue a PhD in nuclear engineering, Rashed is also keen on studying natural frequencies and their applications. His work aims to push the boundaries of our understanding of material properties at atomic level.
Oliver Hart
Oliver Hart is a graduate in Aviation Management from Dublin City University, where he developed a deep understanding of the complexities of the aviation sector and the critical role of safety and security. With over five years of professional experience in aviation ground operations, Oliver has honed his skills in operations, safety management, and financial analytics. His works focus on the challenges and innovations within the industry, offering readers a unique lens through which to view the evolving world of aviation. Oliver is currently working in industry in the role of asset management to further deepen his knowledge and understanding of the wider industry scope. His current interests include safety and security compliance and emerging trends in ground handling operations.
Wolfgang Grimme
Wolfgang Grimme is a business economist at the DLR Institute of Air Transport and Airport Economics. He graduated in December 2004 from the University of Giessen with a Master’s degree in business administration focusing on transport management and international management. He joined DLR in February 2005 and has since then focused in his work on regulatory policy issues in air transport, impact analysis of political measures on the air transport system, environmental economics and intra- & intermodal competition. Additionally, he co-authored numerous papers and refereed journal articles on impacts of the inclusion of aviation into the EU emission trading scheme for greenhouse gases, air transport market analysis and aviation connectivity. Notable projects include a study commissioned by Emirates Airline on the economic impacts of new air services to Germany and the development of a national aviation strategy in Kosovo. Additionally, he was project manager for setting up a new national aviation strategy for Austria. Currently, Wolfgang is involved in studies on the impacts of the use of new energy carriers in aviation.
Captain Sebastian Hall
Captain Sebastian is currently flying the Boeing 777 for Emirates Airline. Before joining Emirates in 2016 he was a Squadron Leader in the UK's Royal Air Force as the Officer Commanding Standards and Evaluations for all the RAF's Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance aircraft. While still serving Sebastian also held the post of Accountable Manager at a UK flying club and was chairman of the Flying Control Committee at 2 large international airshows. He earned his MBA from Staffordshire University in 2017, and he wrote his final dissertation on the role of behavioural economics and psychology among pilots. In 2020 he wrote a paper accepted for publication in the International Journal of Aviation Management which examined the homogenisation of the world's pilots and was awarded an Honorary Assistant Researcher Position at the Institute of Applied Research & Technology, Emirates Aviation University. He also presented his paper about Job Embeddedness Theory and its applicability to professional pilots at the 4th International Aviation Management Conference in 2022 and has recently started a PhD in Aviation Management at the Emirates Aviation University.
Ms Soha Lupescu
Soha Lupescu is a Vice President of Finance with over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and live business operations, having worked across multinational and multicultural settings in the commercial airlines, private aviation, and maritime industries. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Aviation Business Administration at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona Beach, USA. She also holds an MBA in Aviation, specializing in accounting, from ERAU. Her research is focused on Aviation Sustainability, particularly on Alternative Jet Fuels (AJF), Green Hydrogen production, Liquid Hydrogen (LH2), Electric Fuel Cells, and retrofitting/modifying private jet engines to utilize Liquid Hydrogen (LH2). She emphasizes the need for a comprehensive value chain and ecosystem for short-term and long-term sustainability solutions. Driven by her passion for creating a healthier environment for future generations, she has collaborated with various conference organizers on aviation sustainability and ESG topics. She works with industry experts to develop strategies that facilitate the transition from Conventional Jet Fuel (CJF) to green hydrogen. Additionally, she is a project member of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), contributing to the "preparing for hydrogen at airports" initiative in Washington, DC. She is also a keynote speaker and panelist at international events and is training to become a private pilot.
Mr Garry Gumelar Pratama
Garry is a PhD candidate at the International Institute of Air and Space Law (IIASL), Leiden University (the Netherlands); an assistant professor at Universitas Padjadjaran (Indonesia); and executive secretary for the Indonesian Center for Air and Space Law. His current research at the IIASL on the co-existence of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) reflects his passion for air law and ASEAN legal development. Deeply connected to Southeast Asia, he aims to enhance the region’s integration through sustainable air transport development. His work focuses on harmonising international aviation regulations with regional environmental policies to foster sustainability in the aviation sector.
Dr Carlo Giovanni Ferro
Dr Carlo Giovanni Ferro is an aerospace engineer currently serving as Researcher and Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where he also lectures on onboard systems design. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, with a focus on pioneering anti-icing systems for UAVs. Dr. Ferro's expertise spans both academia and industry, including significant roles at Leonardo Helicopters and CERN. His research in additive manufacturing and smart structures has led to patented innovations and international collaborations with leading institutions such as ESA, DLR and several universities.
Dr Sevda Ahmadian
Dr Sevda Ahmadian was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Postgraduate Centre of EAU in December 2018. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Moscow Aviation Technology Institution in 2008 and a Master's in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Putra Malaysia in 2012. In 2018, she completed her Ph.D. in Aviation Management at Girne American University. Dr. Ahmadian is deeply immersed in research, with a primary focus on statistical analysis. Moreover, she imparts her knowledge by teaching aviation courses at the Master's and PhD levels.
Nthabiseng Letsatsi
Nthabiseng Letsatsi is an MSc student at the University of South Africa. She has an Honours degree in Geography and a BSc in Life and Environmental Sciences specializing in Geography and Geology from the University of Johannesburg. Her current research examines fog trends and their implications on aviation tourism at the Oliver Reginald Tambo Airport in South Africa. She is a Climate Information and Publication Scientist at the South African Weather Service. Her research interest revolves around climate change, tourism, and aviation.
Dr Ahlam Mohammed Al-Zoubi
Dr Ahlam Mohammed Al-Zoubi earned her Ph.D. in Business Management from Girne American University and holds an MBA in E-Business Management from Mu’tah-Ohio University. She has held several distinguished academic roles, including Head of the Business Department and Assistant Professor at Akdeniz Karpaz University in Cyprus. Additionally, she has served as a Research Assistant at Girne American University, Assistant Professor at SP Jain School of Global Management in Dubai, and Chair of the Global Business Program at American College Casablanca in Morocco. She is currently the Head of the Faculty of Business at Emirates Aviation University. Dr. Al-Zoubi's research interests focus on the relationship between strategic management and institutional performance in higher education, brand management in relation to consumer cultural contradictions, and marketing management across international contexts.
Dr Ruksanda Kamran
Dr Rukshanda Kamran is an accomplished academic with over 25 years of experience in higher education, specializing in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain Technologies. Her expertise lies in developing innovative, industry-aligned curricula that enhance student learning and prepare them for future challenges. As a Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, she is at the forefront of critical research addressing global food security. Dr. Kamran has contributed extensively to scholarly publications, particularly in High-Performance Computing and Cloud Computing. Her dedication to integrating cutting-edge technology into teaching and research has earned her recognition as a leader in both educational innovation and academic excellence.
Captain Khalid Binsultan
Captain Khalid Binsultan is working at Emirates Airlines as a Captain on the Airbus A380. He has been working in Emirates since graduated from high school. January 2025, he will mark his 20 years of service. His career started in Adelaide, Australia where he learnt to fly his first single-engine airplane and from the Airbus A330, A340-300, A340-500 and up to the A380. He was the Captain of the first A380 demonstration flight in the world, using 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on 22 November 2023. He has completed a Diploma in Aviation Security, a Bachelor's in human resource management, and a Diploma in Sport Marketing Management. Currently, he is a Master’s degree student in Air and Space Law at the University of Sharjah.
Prof Anil Padhra
Prof Anil Padhra is an academic and aviation professional based in the UK. He is Senior Researcher at the University of Cambridge and holds several visiting professor roles across universities in Europe and the Middle-East. His expertise are in the decarbonisation of the aviation industry and climate change. He is a member of the expert team at the UN World Meteorological Organisation and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) helping to better understand climate impacts on aviation. He has previously worked for multiple European airlines in operational and sustainability roles. He has a background in engineering and atmospheric physics and has published widely in leading international journals. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Dr Andrea Trimarchi
Dr Andrea Trimarchi is a researcher in Air, Space and Transportation Law at the University of Bologna. He also lectures in aviation law and international law at the University of Verona, University of Cologne, Leiden University, East China University of Political Science and Law, McGill University and Sharjah University. He holds a Ph.D. doctorate (magna cum laude) in aviation law from the University of Cologne. He further holds an Adv. LL.M. in air & space law from Leiden University and an LL.M. in international law from the University of Roma Tre. His areas of research and expertise include inter alia public international law, international air law, aviation labour law, air transport competition, air services agreements, and advanced air mobility. He is the author of numerous publications in the fields of international and European air law, as well as international law. His most notable publications are Fundamentals of International Aviation Law and Policy (2ed 2024) and International Aviation Labour Law (2022). Andrea regularly delivers lectures and habitually speaks at international aviation law conferences. He is member of the Board of Editors of The Aviation & Space Journal, an expert of AEROHELP, a member of the European Air Law Association (EALA). Since 2022, Andrea is an external consultant at the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Anselm Giemulla
Anselm Giemulla is currently a law student at BSP – Business and Law School Berlin. He was an intern with the Kreindler & Kreindler law firm in New York City that specializes in Aviation Liability Law, and with AMINZ (Arbitrators‘ and Mediators‘ Institute of New Zealand). He has delivered presentations on various aspects of law, including aviation liability law. With a passion for law and aviation law, he is following in the footsteps of his father, Prof. Dr. Elmar Giemulla, who continues to support him on his journey.
Maris Galauskis
Maris Galauskis is a second year Masters student in Intelligent Robotic Systems, a robotics engineer and a researcher at the Riga Technical University. He holds a Bachelor degree in Intelligent Robotic Systems from Riga Technical University. He has worked in multiple research projects related but not limited to computer vision use in agriculture, cooperation of multiple robotic platforms, control algorithms and sensors for unmanned surface vehicles and use cases of automotive grade radars in robotics and small aircraft. His current research topic examines different strategies and path planning algorithms to mitigate congestions of UAVs in an urban environment.
Bartłomiej Dziewoński
Bartłomiej Dziewoński is a PhD Student at the faculty of mechanical engineering at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. During his PhD studies, Bartłomiej is working on the development of various types of unmanned aerial systems. Currently, as part of a team in the Department of Technical Systems Operation, he is designing unmanned aircraft for rapid AED delivery in cases of cardiac arrest in suburban areas. The project is financed by the National Research and Development Center as part of the LIDER XIV contest. His research areas are focused on unmanned aircraft as during his previous studies he was a member and later head of the Academic Aviation Club of WUST, a research club that designs UAVs and competes with them in international competitions around the globe. As part of that team, Bartłomiej won the international competition SAE Aero Design 3 times and finished as runner-up several more times. For his accomplishments connected to UAV design and international contests, he was twice awarded a Students’ Ministry of Science Scholarship for significant achievements. His plans for the future are obtaining funding for research of unmanned aerial aircraft mutual aerodynamic mid-air interaction in controlled airspace. The project proposal has already been filed for the contest organized by the Foundation for Polish Science. If the proposal becomes successful the scope of the project will be to create a mid-air separation standards proposal for unmanned aircraft in controlled airspace that EASA and Polish Civil Aviation Authority could use as an expertise during future legislation creation.
Dr Agnieszka Fortońska
Dr Agnieszka Fortońska – Assistant professor at Lazarski University in Warsaw, lecturer at the University of Silesia in Katowice and employee of Polish Airports. Participant and speaker at many national and international conferences. Author of numerous publications. Scholarship holder of the PEPP Programme – Programme in European Private Law for Postgraduates. Her scientific interests include topics related to international law, European Union law, civil law and transport law, in particular aviation law.
Dr Deepudev Sahadevan
Dr Deepudev is currently an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Mathematics & Data Science and Institute of Applied Research & Technology, Emirates Aviation University. Prior to his appointment as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Deepudev worked for the Airports Authority of India for 12 years in various roles in Airports and Air Traffic Management. He served as advisor member in ICAO Air Traffic Management Requirements and Performance Panel (ATMRPP). Prior to joining AAI, Dr. Deepudev served the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Dr. Deepudev earned a PhD in the area of Machine Learning and Air Traffic Flow Management from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli, India. His research interests are application research in the aviation domain, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Next generation 4D Trajectory Based Operation, Airport and Airspace Capacity Enhancement, Airline Scheduling and Unmanned Aircraft System (UTM).
Aliyu Tata
Mr Aliyu Tata is the Head of Aviation Business Department and Chairman of Professional Training programme at African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) Abuja, Nigeria. He holds Bachelor of Education and Administration Planning from A.B.U Zaria, Postgraduate Diploma in Transport and Logistics, Masters in Transport and Logistics, MSc in Air Transport Management from the Coventry University West Midlands United Kingdom, and has completed his PhD thesis in Air Transport Management from the Swinburne University of Technology Melbourne Australia and currently awaiting final assessment. Tata is highly specialized aviation Undergraduate and Postgraduate experienced. Tata is one of the ICAO certified aviation security instructors in the world. In addition, he obtained an IATA’s certificate in airline revenue management in the UK, and experienced airport and airline simulation using ARENA Model. Tata received a number of ICAO international fellowship programmes including ROK-ICAO fellowship in Aerodrome safety management incorporating PANS from Incheon Airport Aviation Academy Korea. Tata also obtained and ICAO Training Developers Course (TDC) at Joint Aviation Authority Schiphol, Amsterdam Tata has over 15 years of teaching experience engaging with the stakeholders in the aviation industry to investigate passenger experience and related airport challenges in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Tata previously worked as Assistant Director in the training department at the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria teaching airport planning and management including supervision of postgraduate students undertaking Masters in Transport and Logistics before He moved to AAAU as Head of Aviation Business department. Presently, I am a visiting lecturer in the department of Aviation management at Federal University of Transportation Daura, Katsina State Nigeria.
Dr Nidhi Chaturvedi
Dr Nidhi Chaturvedi serves as the Program Coordinator and Senior Lecturer at Emirates Aviation University, Dubai, UAE. With an extensive teaching career spanning over 18 years in the realm of Business Management Education, she brings a wealth of proven expertise to her role. Dr. Chaturvedi holds a Ph.D. in Marketing Management and focuses her research on Consumer Buying Behavior, Strategic Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management and Aviation. Furthermore, she holds a Master's in Business Administration with specializations in Marketing and Information Technology. Her academic pursuits encompass a broad spectrum, including Marketing Management, Consumer Behavior, Strategic Management, Project Management, International HRM, Strategic HRM, and Organizational Behavior. Dr. Chaturvedi excels in teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students, showcasing a commitment to their academic growth. Additionally, she demonstrates leadership prowess through her dedicated performance of various leadership tasks within the educational domain.
Marwah AlBlooshi
Marwah AlBlooshi embarked on her professional journey as a DevSecOps Engineer, a role she held from 2020 to May 2024. During this time, she made significant contributions to various projects in the fields of DevSecOps, Robotics, AI, and Machine Learning. In June 2024, she transitioned to her current role as a Solution Architect, where she leverages her extensive knowledge and experience to design and implement innovative solutions. She graduated in January 2020 from Emirates Aviation University, achieving an impressive GPA of 4.0 in her Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. Later, she pursued a Master’s degree in Data Analytics Program from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Currently, Marwah is dedicated to her academic pursuits and is resuming her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Data Science. Her passion for technology extends beyond academia, as she actively participates in hackathons and engages in volunteering activities. Marwah AlBlooshi is not only a tech enthusiast but also a dedicated community leader. She currently serves as the General Coordinator of the Emirates Group Youth Council for the cycle 2022-2024. In this role, she actively engages with young talents, fosters collaboration, and drives initiatives that empower the youth within the Emirates Group. Marwah’s commitment to both technology and community development exemplifies her well-rounded approach. From her academic achievements to her involvement in various projects, she continues to make a positive impact. Notably, she was a participant in the One Million Arab Coders - Chore 2, showcasing her skills and dedication to the tech community.
Dr Alireza Daneshkhah
Dr Alireza Daneshkhah is an Associate Professor of Data Science and AI at Emirates Aviation University, holding a PhD from the University of Warwick. His research spans Bayesian elicitation, high-dimensional data modelling, and simulating complex engineering and environmental systems using Gaussian process emulators and Physics-informed Machine Learning models. Recently, he pioneered fast computational methods for deep learning, advancing safety validation and optimization in autonomous vehicle scenarios, including pedestrian crossings. His work has addressed real-world challenges like urban/coastal flood modelling, healthcare, economics, and decision-making under uncertainty. Dr. Daneshkhah has been a principal investigator or collaborator on numerous projects funded by EPSRC, NHS, and industry partners, applying advanced machine learning techniques to both Big Data and limited datasets across multiple domains.
Dr Sven Maertens
Dr Sven Maertens holds a master's degree in Business Administration and a doctorate in transportation economics from the University of Münster. In 2008, he joined the Institute of Air Transport and Airport Research at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Since then, he has led or contributed to several research projects and studies on the air transport market, with a focus on business models, competition and environmental issues. Sven regularly publishes academic articles in international journals. In April 2023, Sven became acting vice director of the newly established DLR Institute of Air Transport (Hamburg/Cologne). Sven is a certified project manager (PMP) and has teaching assignments in the field of aviation economics.
Prof Dimitrios Dimitriou
Prof Dimitrios Dimitriou is Professor in quantitative methods for managing critical infrastructure, specialized in transportation sector and supply chain. He is Head of the Department of Economics, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh), Greece, and Director of the Research Laboratory MaGBISE (Governance, Management, Business Intelligence, Business Ethics in transportation operators and supply chain) established an UNESCO regional unit in Bioethics (Business ethics). His specialization deals with investment appraisal, large projects financing, project management, transport and supply chain economics, management performance, decision making, project development, strategic management, sustainable development, strategic planning and management. His research outputs include contribution in 22 large research projects and contribution in a wide range of publications in scientific journals and international fora. His professional truck record includes the occupation of executive management positions in large organizations; the delivery of dedicated studies for international projects; and consulting in a variety of infrastructure projects. He is member of international expert and management committees in international associations and professional bodies, and he is the founder of the network of experts VIP4RIDE (https://vip4ride.com/). In 2021 he was awarded the prize of Valuable Contribution to the Development of business activity and the development of combined transport by the Chamber of Evros, while in 2018 he was awarded for his professional career (Professional Achievement Award in Greece) from the British Council for graduates from British Universities operating in Greece (Study UK Alumni awards).
Dr Maria Sartzetaki
Dr Maria Sartzetaki is She is Assistant Professor of Management (Business Administration) in Dept. of Economics at Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh) and member of the Research Laboratory MaGBISE (Management, Governance, Business Intelligence, Strategy and Corporate Ethics in Infrastructure Operators, Networks and Supply Chain), Greece. Her educational qualifications include Doctorate in management and economics for infrastructures/projects and enterprises/organizations in transport sector, MSc in Computational modelling on Airport Enterprises Economics; MSc in Managing Transportation Systems; and Diploma (equivalent to 4 years BA and 1-year MSc) in Civil Engineering (transportation sector). Her specialization profile is focused on strategic management, performance management, project management, organizational behaviour and leadership, operational management, and corporate social responsibility. She has participated in many research projects providing papers and presentations in distinguished international events and peer review referred journals. In her professional truck record are included occupation of executive advisory positions in transport infrastructure and enterprises, subject matter expertise in fields of business development and corporate management. In 2019 she was the winner of the professional achievement of the "Study UK Alumni Award" awarded by the British Council.
Ahmad Alsuwaidi
Ahmad Alsuwaidi is the Head of Admissions and Registration at the Dubai Police Academy, where he leads strategic initiatives that support academic programs and drive human capital development. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration with a focus on Digital Innovation at the University of Nicosia and holds two master’s degrees: a Master’s in Aviation Security from Emirates Aviation University and an MBA in Human Resources Management from the Canadian University in Dubai. As a faculty member, he teaches Creative Thinking in the Security Field and Project Management. His research interests focus on employee engagement, aviation security, and the integration of advanced technologies to enhance security operations.
Dr Gerasimos Kontos
Dr Gerasimos leverages hands-on expertise and broad cross-functional knowledge across the air transportation industry, including airlines, airport service providers and training organizations. Flagship projects include the strategic planning and execution of a merger and acquisition in the ground handling industry as well as the digital transformation of aircraft turnaround operations for a major European airline. Strongly believing in people development and their potential he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship for scholar research on Human Factors and Skills Deterioration in the Age of Automation from San Jose State University, Department of Aerospace Engineering. His research focused on identifying the Technical and Non – Technical Skills required from flight crew and aircraft maintenance personnel to excel the challenges set by automation and digital transformation of the aviation ecosystem. Results of this research were recently presented in a joint conference organized by IFALPA and UAE National Air Accident Investigation Unit. His Academic Career is co-evolving with his professional expertise. As a technology savvy himself he incorporates a range of interactive media in his courses to enhance students’ apprehension and learning journey through simulated but realistic decision making scenarios. Gerasimos recently joined Abu Dhabi University (ADU) as a Visiting Professor of Aviation. In ADU he acts as Director of Flight Simulation Lab, where a range of simulation software are used for student training and experimentation like X-Plane and PadPilot Gas Turbine Simulation. In conjunction with his teaching and research activities, he is primary coordinator for student internships and fieldtrip activities in a series of Middle East Aviation organizations including but not limited to Etihad Engineering, Lufthansa Technik Middle East and STRATA Aerospace Manufacturing.
Frank Perera
Frank Perera is a PhD candidate and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) promoter at Nagaoka University of Technology. With two years of professional experience as a scheduling executive in two prominent airlines, he combines academic rigor with practical industry knowledge. His research interests focus on analyzing the impact of market concentration on flight performance and optimizing airport traffic and runway conflicts in aviation. Frank's study is specifically centered on developing a decision support system that can predict expected delays, aiming to enhance on-time performance with unpublished schedules during the decision-making phase. Additionally, he is currently co-supervising three projects: two in Japan related to a bicycle sharing system and identifying a shared taxi business model for rural Japan, and one project in Mongolia focused on reducing traffic density in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. He is also passionate about teaching mathematics, aiming to inspire the next generation of thinkers and problem solvers. His work seeks to advance the efficiency and sustainability of aviation systems.
Ahmad Oshaibat
Ahmad Oshaibat is a Boeing 787 Senior First Officer at Royal Jordanian. He began his aviation career in 2017 and has gained valuable experience in a wide range of flight operations. Ahmad earned his bachelor’s degree in Air Transport Management from Emirates Aviation University in 2023. During his studies, he conducted research on Mixed Fleet Flying (MFF), a critical topic with limited available resources. His research investigates the impact of MFF on pilots' flying skills, with a focus on performance and safety outcomes. The aim of this work is to enhance the understanding of MFF's potential, effectiveness, and its proper implementation to improve pilots' proficiency, based on insights gathered from experienced airline pilots.

My name is Fares Labib Alhammadi. I am from United Arab Emirates; I am currently working in ADASI (Abu Dhabi Autonomous System Investments). I have graduated from UPS (Universal Private School) with Cambridge system, then I continue my journey and graduated with a higher diploma in Aircraft Engineering Technology with a grade of honor. Also, recently I have finished my Applied BSc in Aircraft Maintenance Management with the grade of honor. During grade my studies I have passed EASA and GCAA modules given to me. I am planning to enroll in MSc soon. I got the second place in Emirates Skills in Logistics Section which includes Aviation. My goal is to explore new methods in managing the aviation in UAE. I am a quick learner personnel and I try all the methods to learn the knowledge. I like to know about the new technologies all over the world
