Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering are highly-advanced disciplines that explore regimes of flights such as how flying vehicles are designed, powered, operated, controlled and maintained. The Applied Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering programme provides you with the practical training and commercial acumen that you will need to succeed in these advanced technological fields.
This is a four-year programme designed to offer a stimulating, dynamic, and high quality applied/vocational course in aerospace and aeronautical engineering. It prepares learners for various jobs and careers in the airline industry on divisions like aircraft acquisitions, planning, configuration and maintenance.
The following qualifications are also available as exit award of the Applied Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering.
The Applied Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering is a four-year programme based on the vocational curriculum for higher education awards. During those 4 years learners will receive a broad education and hands on experiences in the broad Aerospace disciplines. This includes the study of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion, structural analysis and flight control and system analysis.
From day one of their study, students use the aircraft as the main object of study to enhance their learning skills. As the programme progresses, the emphasis turns gradually from theory to application. Lectures are delivered in parallel with seminars, laboratory sessions and projects where theory is put into practice.
The Aerospace industry has many exciting job opportunities - from design and construction to maintenance and operations. This programme will equip EAU graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue these opportunities. Learners will develop the technical skills and the know-how required to maintain and develop the 21st century Aviation and Aerospace fleets into the future. Students will learn how to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, develop and repair aircraft discrepancies using the knowledge and skills they acquired at EAU and highly-advanced equipment and techniques.
The Applied Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, UAE.
The programme is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society, RAeS as meeting the EngC, CEng requirements in part and the IEng requirements in full. Students who complete the programme have the option of obtaining a Coventry University certificate in addition to Emirates Aviation University award.
This programme aims to equip graduates with the skills to become successful engineers and managers in their discipline and other specialized engineering sectors. Graduates of this programme have gone on to become aircraft maintenance engineers, planning engineers, design engineers, quality engineers and engineering managers for a wide variety of companies. Some have chosen to become pilots while others chose to pursue a higher education (Master’s and PhD degrees) in several engineering areas that include Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering.
Internship and Practical Experience
In collaboration with EK Engineering, the Emirates Group and other Industrial partners, EAU offers its active students who are enrolled in this programme, a six-month industrial internship. This is embedded into the curriculum of the programme and weighting fifteen credits in their semester 6 of their studies.
The coveted internship programme with one of the region’s most successful organisations, will help students combine academic study with practical skills and experience relevant to their education and career plans.
While at EAU, not only students learn comprehensive theory, but EAU will also provide the means to gain practical experience in well-equipped laboratories and workshops as well as the provision of hands on experience in a real workplace environment through on job training and internships.
Alumni Success
Companies that have employed graduates of the Applied Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering programme offered at EAU, include:
