Dr. Seyed Mousavi received his BSc, MSc, and PhD from top universities. He is especially interested in high-impact real-world applications of AI. After earning his PhD from Imperial College London (2006), he started his academic roles: Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering (Isfahan University of Technology, 2007-2014), Associate Professor in Software Engineering (Amirkabir University of Technology, 2014-2018), and Assistant Professor in Data Science (Coventry University, 2018-2024). Because of his interest in real-world impact, he has also engaged with industry as a developer (during his studies) and as a team lead, contractor, and consultant (during his academic profession). Three of his nine grants were research and development projects. Most recently (2024-2025), as a Research Fellow at the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow, he contributed to a research and development project on AI in healthcare, jointly run with (and funded by) Boehringer, a global pharmaceutical company. In addition, he has been affiliated with the School of Cancer Sciences, University of Glasgow.
