Prof Kaitano Dube is an internationally recognized tourism geographer specialising in tourism and aviation. He has a strong interest in aviation sustainability and climate change. In his research, he examined the relationship between aviation and climate change. As part of the aviation climate change work, we have focused on various aspects of SDG 13 (on climate change action), including how the aviation industry is mitigating and adapting to build a resilient sector (across the aviation value chain). His seminal research on the relationship between COVID-19 and global aviation has established him as a leading global researcher. A leading tourism and aviation scholar, Professor Dube is a member of several journal editorial boards. He is an editor for Tourism Geographies and an associate editor for Frontiers in Sustainable Tourism and Cogent Social Sciences. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Tourism Geography at the Vaal University of Technology as well as a Faculty of Human Science Research, Innovation and Commercialization Professor.
